Members of the Prospect Diagnostics team took part in a volunteer day supporting Baby Basics, helping prepare vital “starter pack” donations for families in need.
Baby Basics is a national charity, founded in Sheffield – that helps parents and newborns who find themselves in hardship — offering essentials such as clothes, feeding equipment, nappies, cots or Moses baskets, toiletries and more, for babies from birth up to age five.
During our visit, the Prospect team helped sort and pack items – from clothing and bedding to baby-care essentials — to be distributed through Baby Basics’ network of centres across the UK. The experience was rewarding and a powerful reminder of how much small acts of kindness can help families in need.
Why we chose to get involved
Support for vulnerable families: With mounting cost-of-living pressures, many families face difficult choices — Baby Basics helps ensure no child lacks basic necessities like a safe place to sleep or warm clothes.
Community and social responsibility: As part of our values at Prospect Diagnostics, we believe businesses should give back — this volunteer day allowed us to contribute directly to a worthwhile cause while building team spirit at the same time.
Tangible impact: By donating time and effort, our team helped Baby Basics prepare bundles that will go to families in need— offering newborns a safe, dignified start, and helping parents in very challenging circumstances.
