BC1 Head Cap Phone AmplifierProspect Diagnostics is pleased to announce a new distribution partnership with BrainCapture, bringing the BC‑1 point‑of‑care EEG system to the UK.

This agreement marks an important step in expanding access to neurological diagnostics, helping NHS teams assess patients more quickly and closer to the point of care.

EEG testing remains an essential tool in diagnosing and managing a wide range of neurological conditions, yet access can often be limited by capacity, specialist availability, and long waiting times. The BC‑1 has been developed specifically to address these challenges, combining portability, ease of use and remote connectivity to enable high quality EEG recording in a wider range of clinical settings.

Supporting earlier diagnosis across the NHS
The introduction of BC‑1 into the UK creates a significant opportunity to support District General Hospitals and community services, where access to traditional EEG services can be more constrained. Designed to be used by non-specialist healthcare professionals following a short training period, the system allows high quality EEG data to be captured and shared securely with remote experts for interpretation.  This approach enables faster clinical decision-making and opens up new pathways for delivering neurodiagnostics in emergency departments, acute care settings and outpatient clinics.

Expanding access through innovative technology
BrainCapture, a Danish medical technology company, has developed the BC‑1 to address global gaps in access to neurological care by combining wearable EEG hardware with smartphone guidance and cloud-based reporting.

The system includes a portable  32 channel EEG amplifer,  high quality 27 electrode caps, mobile phone application and EEG reporting platform, allowing recordings to be taken outside traditional specialist environments and reviewed remotely by neurologists.
By enabling EEG to be deployed in more flexible settings, the technology supports earlier diagnosis and improved patient pathways.

Building on momentum across Europe
BrainCapture has been expanding rapidly across Europe, with a clear focus on increasing access to neurodiagnostics in both hospital and community environments. Prospect Diagnostics brings extensive experience of the UK healthcare market and a strong track record of supporting NHS adoption of innovative point of care technologies. Together, the partnership aims to accelerate the availability and uptake of accessible EEG solutions across the UK.

Looking ahead
Prospect Diagnostics and BrainCapture are now working together to introduce the BC‑1 to NHS clinicians, with further updates, evaluations and case studies planned as the rollout progresses.
