BrainCapture® Portable EEG system
Electroencephalography (EEG) is a non-invasive diagnostic test that records the brain’s electrical activity through electrodes placed on the scalp. It is widely used to assess brain function and detect abnormal activity associated with conditions such as epilepsy, seizures, encephalopathy, brain injury and altered consciousness. EEG provides clinicians with valuable real-time information to support diagnosis, treatment decisions and ongoing patient monitoring.
During an EEG recording, electrodes are positioned on the patient’s scalp to detect the tiny electrical signals produced by brain cells. These signals are amplified, digitally recorded and displayed as brainwave patterns for analysis. With BrainCapture, a healthcare professional can perform a high quality EEG recording after minimal training, with data securely uploaded to the cloud for remote review and interpretation by neurophysiology specialists.
